About David
My interest in photography started whilst I was training to become a flight engineer in the Royal Air Force. I had 28 years experience in both military and civil aviation, and during this time I lived in Hong Kong for 12 years before moving back to the UK. I operated as a crew in Hercules C130, HS125, Lockheed Tristar and 747s, flying to many beautiful locations throughout the world and worked with a great group of people.
As a licentiate member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and Royal Photographic Society I am actively working towards a higher professional qualification.
All aspects of photography fascinate me. I especially enjoy capturing the images of people as every person is different and has their own story to tell. The old adage “you should never work with animals and children” couldn’t be further from the truth for me as I thoroughly enjoy their company. This certainly helps to establish a good rapport that is essential to get people to relax and show their true personality. I specialise in wedding and portrait photography and I get a tremendous buzz from creating prints that will undoubtedly be treasured for many years. For relaxation I love making black & white portraits of flowers and abstract images using large format cameras and using traditional printing techniques.
To enable me to help you with your photographic aspirations, I offer a bespoke service that includes meticulous planning and preparation for the occasion and great attention to detail. I endeavour to encapsulate the spirit of the occasion with fresh, lively, spontaneous images as well as traditional groupings.
